Bone and Steel - Stories About Advenuture"You Broke My Heart So I Took Yours....." - Sadie Hawkins
Did you know the thistle is the Scottish National Symbol? Legend has it - a sleeping group of Scottish warriors were about to be ambushed by an invading Norse army when one of the enemies stepped on a particularly pesky, spiky thistle. As you can imagine the pained Norse's cry of agony woke up the warriors who then took great care to vanquish the invading Norse army . Two weeks in Scotland isn't enough. As Tickle and Smash vacationed, we both marveled at the beauty of the country and the amazing people who call Scotland home. The mysteries of the highlands and the history explored in Scotland's infamous cities, Edinburgh and Glasgow, inspired and filled our days. Traveling through every moor , mountain, coastline and cliff was an exhilarating adventure . The winds of Scotland seem to whisper melodies of broken hearts and heroic deeds in our ears. You can run for days, with no one but sheep to stand in your way. Its a beauty hard to translate but forever remembered. Going back to San Francisco, with all it's people, traffic, and real life scenarios, seemed surreal after being in such a magical place. Thank you Scotland... we can't wait to return to you.
